In a world where society claims to forgive, the reality often paints a different picture. We are told to rise like a phoenix from the ashes of our past, to embrace each bad chapter as a lesson. Yet, how often are people truly allowed to leave their past behind? Mistakes cling like roots to a tree—an inseparable part of who we are, shaping how we are judged and remembered. This thought-provoking book delves into the harsh truth: can anyone truly escape their past, or will society always hold it against them? Through powerful storytelling, it explores the journey of self-redemption and the constant battle for acceptance. Will the characters rise above the judgment, or will their past define them forever?
"I'll talk to him, I can't live with his rude attitude." She mumbled while examining herself in the mirror, she was looking presentable in a red and black suit, her not very long but silky black hair tied in a high ponytail and intoxicating eyes looking more attractive because of the amount of kohl present in them.
She wore the red glass bangles in her both wrists because Aatish liked red on her. After a stroke of lipstick she pressed her perfectly shaped lips together to spread it evenly.
Meanwhile she heard a knock on the door and looked at the clock which was showing 11:45 at night.
"Coming" She yelled and spritzed Aatish's favourite fragrance.
"Aatish, I was waiting for you for two hours" She complained after opening the door.
"I wasn't roaming around, but busy with important work" It was a rude reply which took away the smile of her lips, but she again maintained it.
"Go and freshen up, I'm serving dinner for you" She spoke in a soft tone and he ignored.
"Aatish, what have I done? Why are you offended with me?" She asked while holding his arm but he stayed standing as if she didn't exit.
"Aatish.., Aatish please na.. You know na I don't have anyone except you in this world. Please don't be offended by me. I can't live without you" Even after this big speech Aatish was silent and she was clueless about the reason.

"Aatish don't think about me, don't think about yourself but please think about this little life" She pleaded; she was crying with hiccups
"I can't, I'm sorry. But I can't" Aatish replied and looked away.
"What does it mean? Aatish it's not only my child, it's your child too!" She asked while wiping her tears but that was continuously running down from her cheeks.
"I'm saying to abort this child, but you are not listening" Aatish replied without looking at her.
"Aatish it's our child, how can you even think of killing this? Aatish please. I'm begging in front of you... Please don't do this with me and our child." She again pleaded in front of a heartless man.
"I'm very tired, let me sleep. If you want to cry more, you may continue" He replied and lay down on the bed facing opposite to her.
"Aatishhhh..."
"Pleaseee... Aatish please.." She cried loudly and shook his shoulder.
"Aatish I promise I'll never ask for a single penny in my whole life, I promise I'll never ask for even food, clothes, or anything else. But please don't do this with us" She joined her hands but he didn't even open his eyes
"Let me sleep," He mumbled; unaffected.
"Aatish I'll live my whole life as a maid in your house, I'll do whatever your parents will say. But Please try to understand... Where will I go in this condition?" She again pleaded and this time Aatish sat down on bed.
"Why are you crying so much?"
"Aatish please.. I.. I.. How I make you believe... What should I do? Ya Allah what have I done with myself?" She was unable to understand what and how she should explain everything to Aatish.
"Try to understand, we both will be happy, be ready for abortion and forget me." Aatish said while placing his hand on her shoulder and she glared at him.
"How can you even think about abortion. It's not only my baby, but yours too Aatish. I'll never kill my baby" She said while placing her hand on her belly.
"Then continue your crying session" Aatish shouted and her eyes again shed tears.
"Aatish… please…" she cried out while clenching his shirt in her fists. She never cried in the whole 19 years of her life which she was crying about that night.
"Don't cry, Rose"
"Aatish I love you. Please, Change your decision, believe me we both will live happily." She mumbled while holding his right hand and placed that on her belly, but Aatish was silent.
"Try to understand Rose my parents are not agree to accept you"
"What do you mean by this Aatish? Why do you never think about your Parents before loving me? Did you ask for their permission before... Before doing everything else with me?" She raised questions with rage but cried more.
She was begging in front of Aatish, joining her hands, but his heart seemed like it was made up of stone which couldn't be melted. Ignoring her, Aatish laid down silently facing opposite to her.
"How can you treat me like this? Am I your mistress? Aatish!!" She shook his shoulder but he didn't move
"Aatish, it's your baby and don't treat me like a slut..."
A long and loud gasp made her feel alive. she woke up with a jolt and felt wetness in her eyes, she couldn't help her tears which rolled down from her eyes, her forehead was full of sweat, and her heart was jumping like hell.
It's been thirteen years but this dream never let me sleep peacefully, she thought, before wiping the tears and sweat droplets from her forehead.
She tried her best to forget her past but it came in front of her every night in the form of a dream.
"Hmm... What happened? Why aren't you sleeping?" she heard a sleepy voice and turned to saw her husband who was looking at her
"Nothing" she replied, picking the glass of water from the side table, she gulped that in one go.
"Aren't you feeling sleepy?" she shook her head in reply but laid down beside him.
"You sleep again, I'll take sleeping pills if I don't get sleep in some time" She replied and shut her eyes.
"Don't take sleeping pills regularly, it's not good for your health" He scolds her but she smiles.
"Okay master," She smiled.
"Master?" He was puzzled.
''Yes master, you always orders me like a master"
"Now sleep without sleeping pills" He smiled and started giving her light head massage and soon she was consumed by slumber.

Tum ko bhi hai khabar
Mujhko bhi hai pata
Ho raha hai judaa
Dono ka rasta
Dur jaake bhi mujhse tum meri yaadon main rehna
Kabhi alvida na kehna...

"We will miss you class 12th, best of luck for your exams and future" After finishing the song, a small speech was delivered by a small chubby girl, for the farewell party of school.
"A big round of applause for our melodious girl" A class 11th girl announced and the school auditorium was full of clapping sound.
"Thanks a lot Shifa for this lovely song" with this line Shifa went down stage, her long hair which was tied up in a high ponytail was moving from left shoulder to right one. A wide grin was not leaving her lips.
"She is so beautiful, her eyes are not less than a dagger on my heart." Sameer A tenth class student, said dramatically to his friend while putting his hand on his heart.
"Oh hello... She is your bhabhi, don't talk nonsense about her" Rohail, geared at Sameer.
"Bhabhi? Huh! Dude she never pay a single glance to you'' Sameer rolled his eyes to his friend while looking the way from where Shifa left, and now she was sitting with her best friend Afifa
"Stop it you both, she is just 12 or maybe 13, she is very young" one of their classmates let out his disappointment.
"So what if she is young? I'm also not a gray headed, Chashmish." Sameer glared at his bookworm classmate.
"If Hamdan got to know that you call Shifa bhabhi, he will kill you"
"You don't worry Chashmish, us saale ko to main sambhal lunga, and also today is the farewell party for 12th, so it's his last day in school. And handling Shifa's younger brother is not a big deal '' Sameer said while raising his eyebrow and his friend (Chashmish) glared at him.
(I'll handle my Brother-in-law,)
"Abee ooo.. Zyada ghur mat, Hamdan saala hi to hai.., Shifa ka bhai hai to mera saala hi hua na" Sameer said while looking at the quiet girl who was talking to her best friend.
(No need to glare me, Hamdan is Shifa's brother so he is my would be brother-in-law)

"Bhai"
"Hamdan Bhai"
"Bhai, Hamdan bhai"
Shifa and Bilal two of them yelled while running towards the school gate, where Hamdan was standing with his friends.
"Hmm?"
"What are you doing here? We are waiting for you, do you know School bus is not going only because of you'' Shifa said in a single breath.
"It's my last day of school, I'm going with my friends, you two go home" Hamdan said and Bilal nodded but downheartedly.
"Let's go Shifa aapi"
Shifa and Bilal took steps towards the bus
"Bilal, when will I come to class 12?" Shifa dreamed while making a cute pout.
"You are in seventh class so wait five more years, and I have to wait for seven years" Bilal fake cried and Shifa giggled at his act.
"You will take seven years to come in class twelve if you won't fail in class 10th" Shifa whispered mischievously and Bilal glared at her.
"Aapi you are very bad" He complained and she nodded with her toothie grin.
"Bilal you will see your sister as the singing queen of school, and I will enjoy a lot after school" Shifa again dreamed with open eyes..
"Singing queen? Papa will not allow you" Bilal did a reality check and she sighed.
"Billu I never understand, papa never stops you and Hamdan bhai to do anything but why does he always have a problem with me?" Shifa asked her younger brother and he shrugged while stepping in the school bus.
"You don't worry aapi, I'll request papa for you and you know very well he will never refuse my demand" Bilal announced proudly and Shifa nodded happily.
