After all, both of them were happy today. After three months of their marriage, they broke this news in their office to get rid of people's suspicious and questioning gazes. They didn't want to let people know about their relationship at their workplace but now this decision was looking much better than hiding the truth.

After working in the office both of them came back home, had their evening tea and then started preparing for the next day. Madiha was cooking Athar's favourite dish and he was ironing the clothes for tomorrow. It was their daily routine, they both felt complete with each other. Madiha was forgetting all her pains and problems with this man. He was the best thing to happen in her life. Similarly, Athar was feeling tranquil to have this lady in his life who was ready to do anything to make him comfortable. He was in disbelief when Madiha transferred all her salary, other than a little amount, to his account for household expenses, and the rest of the little amount went to Zayan's toys. If there was a person who could make Athar insecure regarding his wife then he was Zayan for sure. This woman could ignore him for several hours without thinking once that he was present in the same room if she had Zayan in her lap.

Their life was going smoothly. Just like perfect. Madiha served dinner and called Athar. Without wasting time they both started having dinner and suddenly Athar's smile went to rest when Madiha noticed that she stood up from her place leaving her dinner in between.

"Wo Maa hain, ye kesi ego hai aapki ki agar wo call nhi krengi to aap bhi unse baat nhi krenge?" Passing his mobile phone she said in a hushed tone.

(She is your mother, don't show her ego. If she doesn't call you then you should call her.)

"Ego nhi hai... Bas dekhna chahta hu kitne lambe arse tak wo mujhse naraz reh sakti hain."

(it's not ego. I just want to know for how long she can stay without talking to me.)

"Apni maa ke pyaar ko bohot bekar tareeqe se test kar rhe hain aap. Wo aapko miss karti hongi." This time Madiha dialled a number which was saved as Peace. Yes, His mother was his peace and the woman sitting in front of him was his life. Right now he was living a life with no peace at heart.

(it's the worst way to test your mother's love. She must be missing you.)

"You are the most precious gift for her, you are her best son." Madiha said and passed the mobile to Athar who waited for the call to be received from the other side. "hello."

"Ammi se baat karao Arif," Athar said without any formal greetings. "Wo... Wo abhi busy hain, abhi baat nhi kar sakti."

(Arif, make me talk to Ammi.)

(She is busy, can't talk now.)

"kya kar rhi hain?" Athar asked and Madiha looked at his face. His expression changed. First, she smiled a little then his smile was lost somewhere. He hummed and nodded.

(Busy in what?)

"Mubarak ho, Ammi se kehna call kar lein mujhe." and he cut the call.

(Congratulations. Tell Ammi to call me.)

"Kya hua?" seeing his silent and pale face Madiha asked and Athar lifted the next morsel without showing any kind of effect on his face.

(what happened?)

"kal raat se Ammi Farha ke sath busy hain..." Madiha looked up while having her next morsel. "Sab theek hai?"

(Ammi has been busy with Farha since last night.)

(why? All good?)

"Hmm... beta hua hai. Bohot khush tha Arif." Athar muttered, Madiha nodded without saying anything and there was no topic of discussion left.

(Hmm... She has given birth to a son. Arif was so happy.)

After a silent dinner, Madiha cleaned the kitchen, prayed all the missed prayers of the day and lifted her hands to make dua. No words came to her tongue. Allah paak, please... Give us peace and happiness.

Just a simple dua and she stood up. Switching off the lights she laid down beside Athar who was already fast asleep. Shifting his hair from his forehead Madiha covered him with a blanket properly. She wanted to let him know how important he was in her life, how much she loved him and how much she admired him. Just half an hour ago she witnessed a sad and silent Athar and his sadness hurt him the most. Numerous questions took birth inside her but there was no answer visible. Why was Athar unhappy after that phone call? She asked herself and looked at her sleeping husband. Was he hurt and unhappy because his wife could not give birth to his offspring? Or was he missing his family? Or was there something else?

She wanted to give him every possible happiness but couldn't. Athar said a few times that he didn't care if Madiha couldn't become a mother but every time his eyes were addressing an untold pain. From the time of her last miscarriage, she was feeling some changes in her body... Now she was afraid that she wouldn't even conceive again. Last year she miscarried a baby during the 5th month of pregnancy, at that time the doctor advised her to not try to get pregnant another time for at least 6 months because the mechanism of her body was pretty disturbed due to many miscarriages, the doctor said that if she got pregnant again her life could be in danger however Danish never bothered about Madiha's health, he used her body to satisfy his lust and desires. Only after two months, she was pregnant again, and this time Danish's violence fainted her, when she gained her senses back a drip was attached to her hand and after two days she lost her baby... After that, she never got pregnant.

"Athar," she knew waking up this man wasn't a cup of tea so just whispered... But what would she do even if he woke up? "Hmm?" he hummed.

Madiha was surprised. He was awakened. Opening his eyes he saw his wife who grabbed his hand with entangled fingers. "Aap udas hote hain to main toot jati hu. Aap meri taqat hain Athar," she muttered

(When you are sad, I break down. You are my strength Athar.)

"Aur aap kyu toot rhi hain Madam ji?" Athar whispered while spreading his arm, a silent gesture for his wife to grab this pillow that only she deserved.

(And why are you breaking down my Madam ji?)

"Why are you upset?" placing her head on his arm she asked and Athar smiled while taking her in his embrace. "I'm not."

"Don't lie in front of me. I know you are."

"No, I'm not."

"Don't you trust me?"

"I'm missing Ammi but she forgot me as if..." he whispered. "Go to meet her," Madiha suggested

"Hey listen..."

"hmm... "

"I want to adopt a baby... What do you think?" Athar suggested. Madiha's eyes filled with tears but lips engaged with a smile. She never thought about adoption.

"A boy or a girl?" She asked and Athar thought for a few moment and smiled... "A girl, a little princess who would call me Abbu." he was making his dreamland big when noticed his wife's tears. "What do you want? A girl or a boy?"

"I just want your happiness. nothing else."

"You're my happiness that child will be my bonus." kissing her forehead he whispered and Madiha rested her head on his chest. She didn't want anything other than her husband's happiness and peace.

"Athar..." she yelled. They both were getting late but this man took too much time to get ready. "Athar, I'll go alone." she huffed while cleaning the kitchen slab and sink.

"Just a minute yaar, why are you so punctual? Getting late by 10-20 minutes doesn't come to count." wiping his wet hair with the towel he walked back towards the bedroom and Madiha saw him with disappointment. She was all ready to leave, only locking the door was left.

"Athar, it is not good to get late."

"Oh come on, take a chill pill. Har cheez ko itna serious na liya kro. Kuch chezein zara lightly handle katni chahiye. Tension le le kar energy waste na kra kro, Jaha zarurat hai waha lagaya kro."

(Don't take everything so seriously. Some things should be handled lightly. don't waste your energy by taking tension, use it where it is needed.)

"Main apni energy aapko sudhaarne me use kar rhi hu lekin mujhe to wo bhi waste hoti dikh rhi hai."

(I am using my energy to improve you, but I see that it is also being wasted.)

"I believe in being natural, main badalne walo main se nhi hu. Dekho kitna achha, sachha shohor mila hai tumhe." the over proud man raised his collar and Madiha huffed.

(I'm not going to change. See, you have got such a nice, and honest husband)

"Ji, Achha, Sachha aur dheet bhi." She looked away and Athar laughed while hurriedly walking towards the door, today he didn't forget to pick his scooter keys otherwise his wife would scold him another time.

(Yeah, nice, honest and obdurate too.)

"Mujhe kitni achhi tarha samajhti ho na tum."

(Wow, you understand me so well.)

"Bohot dheet hai aap." pulling the veil on her face she huffed and turned to walk out from the home but a hand pulled her towards himself. Removing the veil he kissed her cheek and smiled, completely ignoring her fake anger. "Kabhi kabhi has bhi liya karo... Chidchidi billi." kissing the other cheek he pulled her veil back and walked towards the door leaving Madiha in chaos.

(you are very obdurate.)

(Laugh sometimes, you grumpy cat.)

What should she do now? Still show her disappointment or just hug this man?

Well, she wanted to do both things because this man handled her fake anger and tantrums with love and when she hugged him she felt protected every single time.

"Ab kiski wajah se deyr ho rhi hai?" Athar asked to make her realised that she was frozen at her point.

(Now who's the reason behind getting late?)

"Only you." she walked towards the door. Before they could open the door a knock grabbed their attention. "Lagta hai aaj office walo ne hume ghr se utha kr lane ka order de diya," Athar muttered on which Madiha laughed but opened the door to find a policeman.

(It seems that today the boss has sent people to pick us up from home.)

"Yes?" Athar asked, their smiles dropped after seeing this man. Madiha was already afraid of this uniform however she did not react.

"Who is Madiha?" her breath was stuck in her throat.

"She is my wife. What's wrong?"

"There is a legal summon for her, she has to appear in the court."

"What? But why?" Madiha asked while grabbing the white envelope passed by the man.

"You'll understand everything." he was about to turn when Athar's voice stopped him. "But legal summons are sent by the court when one doesn't receive the legal notice... We never get a notice!" Madiha looked at her husband. She didn't know what he was talking about, even after being the wife of a policeman for almost four years she didn't know anything about these basic legal systems because that man never talked to her he only ordered her.

"That's the only process." the policeman replied.

"No, that's not." Athar asserted

"Don't teach me... That's enough." the policeman walked away holding his big belly.

"Ye usi shaytan ki koi nayi harkat hai... Maine bola tha na ki usne hume sath dekha hai ab wo kuch na kuch to karega." Madiha had tears while mumbling that. When she was afraid regarding this matter Athar was the one who scolded Madiha for being so anxious, according to him Danish couldn't do anything now, but Madiha knew that man very well, she knew that he could do anything if he came into his devilish form.

(This is a new act of that devil. The other day he saw us together... I told you that he will do something for sure. Didn't I?)

Athar took the envelope from her hand and tore the corner to pull out the paper from it. He was still not sure that Danish was behind this legal notice because his ex-wife was already married to another man... What was left to do now? But he was shocked after reading the notice.

Seeing his pale face Madiha snatched the paper from his hand and read that. For a few minutes, she was shocked and couldn't hold herself anymore.

"What the hell is this Athar? I'm not his wife. I'm your wife, we're married... I won't go back to him... I'm your wife." in the end she was shouting and Athar only pulled her in a protective embrace.

Danish accused Madiha of living with another man outside the marriage. Furthermore, he wanted his wife back."

"No one can separate us. We are already married." Athar whispered but he knew Danish wasn't a simple guy to handle. He had power, money, and knowledge for these legal matters however this simple man had none of these.
