"Collection of Memories" captures the diverse palette of life—sweet moments that bring joy, tangy encounters that add excitement, and salty experiences that bring depth. Yet, even the most delightful blend can be overshadowed by a hint of bitterness, lingering longer than any other taste. What unfolds when bitterness seeps into a relationship, erasing the sweetness and eclipsing every other emotion? In this tale, love and hate are not just opposites but entwined forces battling for control. When both are added to the fragile balance of a relationship, which will prevail, and what memories will be left standing? Explore a journey where passion and resentment collide, revealing the raw essence of human connection. Will love’s warmth triumph, or will hate’s shadow cast over everything, leaving only a lingering aftertaste?
After Three Days
That wasn't easy for me to let her go. I was feeling like...
My soul was leaving my frame...
My heartbeat was going away from my heart...
And my dreams going away from my sleep...
Like someone suddenly discoloured the rainbow of my life...
Like someone snatched away the sunshine from the vast sky of my love and left my soul in darkness.
If she didn't want to live with me then why she was acting so well? She was the only girl for whom I started feeling that special emotion called LOVE
And she was the only girl who became an inseparable part of my heart but I separate her by myself because I could tolerate her with someone else when she is living with me.
I love her.
"Why Sara?" I wanted to destroy everything around me. It was our first wedding anniversary, I wanted to take her somewhere to spend a good time together but I spent the whole day and night like a... like a...
I don't have exact words to define my condition but in short, I was devastated. Destroyed. Engulfed by sorrow. Flooded with tears. And engraved due to her backstabbing.
"Adnaan" a hand grabbed my shoulder from behind and I turned back. He was Sameer.
"What happened bro?"
"Nothing" I murmured, I was back to work after three days but since morning I was only sitting silently on my work desk, I hadn't done any work. My brain wasn't working.
"Your mobile, it was with me" I was surprised, I didn't know how he was having my mobile. "I took it to call my wife and then all those things happened... I didn't get tome to return it" Avinash explained my unasked question and I silently nodded.
"Bro I... I'm feeling a bit off... Give me leave for two-three days." I spoke in almost no voice while shutting down my laptop and he again pats my shoulder.
"Be strong boy, I know it's painful but... I already doubted your wife." Avinash was also sad for me but I was broken.
"Avi, I still can't believe... She was so good with me... We both were happy together. Then why...?"
"Go home and take a rest" Humming on that order I stood up.
"Why everyone is seeing me like this?". I asked Avinash after detecting the sights of my colleagues and subordinates fixed on me. It was the same for two hours of my presence in the office.
"Ignore them and go" I nodded before picking up the laptop.
Before started Driving towards home I drew out my mobile phone, it was off so I connect it with the charging cord and turn it on. It was showing a few texts from Sara. My brows curled and I open them
What's your plan bandar?
Where are you?
Arnaan why your mobile is off?
Adnaan call me as soon as you get my text
These were her messages. I was pretty surprised because it was showing the timing before I caught her in hotel room.
Even after watching her with Qaleel in that hotel room, somewhere my heart was not ready to believe that she could do so, my love was not so weak that makes her forget in a few days.
Driving towards home I was debating with myself and then the red light on the traffic signal stopped me to drive further. Resting my head on the staring wheel I was trying not to think about her when a knock on the glass grabbed my attention.
"Sahab" I pulled down the glass and saw that smiling face.
(Sir)
He was the same little boy, I passed a hundred rupee note and he shook his head.
"Today my all flowers are sold." He chirped happily. "Take this too" I gave him that money and he passed me two floral bracelets.
"There are for you, I always keep two for you" He smiled brightly while telling me and put those floral bracelets on my hand which was forward to give him money. Before I could refuse or say something, he already ran to another side of the road and I heard loud horns from my behind as the signal was turned green.
Those floral bracelets bloomed memories of the past in my heart. Notwithstanding the thousand resistings of my brain, I finally listen to my heart which was begging to see Sara one more time.
I don't know why I was ready to give her another chance if she promises not to betray me in future. Without wasting much time I turned the car towards her school, it was school timing so she must have been present there.
For three nights I wasn't able to sleep, each time her begging, her tears and her weeping were awaiting me with a jolt. I can't live away from her. I just wanted to hug her tightly and cage her somewhere from where she could go anywhere leaving me alone. I was determined to take her away from Hyderabad and Qaleel. For two months I was applying for a job in Canada and it was almost done... I was planning to go there along with Sara... Away from Qaleel... Away from everything negative. I just wanted to live with her happily. I was ready to forgive her for everything.
"Excuse me, I wanna meet Sara" reaching her school I asked a lady. Maybe she was her colleague.
"Sara..." She asked and I nodded.
"Yes, Sara Adnaan... "
"She leaves the job two days back" I was stunned. For two long moments, I was unable to track down the meaning of that. "A... And... Qaleel" I asked in almost no voice.
"He also resigned same day"
She left with Qaleel and I was still planning to forgive her and start everything with a new point. I was nothing to her. Just a toy with whom she was playing or probably she was never interested in me but taking revenge from me as at one point I was involved with Mansi.
I love Sara...
No... I loved her...
But never she loved me that's why she was holding an affair with Qaleel on my back. I was a fool who was believing her and trusting her blindly. I caught her many times with Qaleel in my own home, but every time I just thought that she was innocent and Qaleel was having some wrong intentions but the fact is... I was wrong!
Who says man doesn't cry? Sometimes men cry. Sometimes men hurt. Sometimes men fall apart. Feel broken. Feel hopeless. Empty. Lost. Sometimes it's not their fault the relationship doesn't work out. Sometimes it's the other way around. Sometimes they do everything right. And it just doesn't click. It just doesn't work out. Just doesn't go in their favour. I was on this page of life where I cried most.
Not only girls but sometimes boys are also sensitive. I loved her just as hard. And hurt just as hard as well. I just wanted a fair shot at love. That's all... But what Sara did? She left me devastated.

Third Person's POV:
After Three Months.
Adnaan was broken, anyone could see his condition, he was silent in front of everyone but holding a commotion in himself.
"Adnaan what's your advice?"
"Adnaan... "
"That's wasn't my fault," He was sitting in the meeting room. The sight was downcast. And mumbling for himself.
"Adnaan where are you lost?" Avinash shook his arm.
"Hmm... Yeah..." He came out of his trance and looked here there. All pairs of eyes were only focusing on him.
"You're not attentive to work anymore. Are you the same Adnaan who use to put his opinions regarding every possibility!" Adnaan noticed the sharp gaze of his boss on himself.
"Sorry sir, I was a bit distracted" Adnaan muttered
"Work productivity of Sales department is decreasing day by day" Adnaan was the head of sales department so conclusively he was responsible for that loss.
"You're not the head of the sales department anymore. Avinash give this post to someone else, and Adnaan you don't have to attend board meetings from now onwards"
After many losses in his personal life, now he faces a demotion.
..........
"Adnaan... I'll talk to Dad. I'll not let you demoted" Avinash placed his hand on Adnaan's shoulder but he shook his head while puffing on a cigarette.
"There was a time when I wanted to achieve everything in my life, but now..." He left the sentence in between. For the last three months, everyone was busy gossiping about Sara and Adnaan's separation. Some of Adnaan's colleagues were doing character assassination of Sara and few others purposely enjoying the gossips. The news related to Sara and Adnaan was circulated all around the office just like a wildfire and All the credit goes to Mansi. Though no one was uttering a single word at Adnaan's face, still backbiting was on peak and Adnaan knew about that.
These three months changed his entire personality. His playful nature was ended. He stopped talking to everyone. He had a habit of Sara, but when she left him Loneliness started killing him so he found out a new habit. SMOKING.
Conclusively, he was a dead body and this world was like a coffin for him.
"Adnaan come out from this phase of life"
"Avi, please leave me alone. I'm fine" Adnaan demanded and Avinash sighed before going to his cabin and Adnaan was standing alone. For the first two months, Mansi tried to seduce him.
No, she wasn't interested in Adnaan anymore.
She only wanted to seduce Adnaan and when he comes closer to her, she wanted to dump him and insult him. She wanted to recreate what Adnaan did with her. But her plan was miserably failed when Adnaan didn't even glance at her. His heart was beating for Sara... Only Sara. There wasn't any place for anyone else.
Adnaan's mobile started ringing and he winced but received the call.
"Yeah, Anzala bhai?"
"How are you Adnaan?"
"Bhai I'm very busy in the office, I'll talk to you later" Saying that he was going to cut the call but "Adnaan, Maizah wants to talk to Sara... Why aren't you making them talk and why you're not buying new mobile for Sara?"
"Anzala bhai I'm busy, please leave me alone. Don't call me every day... I'm not working in a family business like you" Shouting on Anzala Adnaan cut the call. He was tired of hiding everything from his parents and family. He didn't want to reveal anything in front of them and hiding everything was becoming another problem.
To receive his demotion letter Adnaan stepped towards Avinash's cabin but he was stopped when listening to shouting sound from the cabin
"You had told me to bear all my expenses for the next one year, it's only three months and you forget about the deal" Someone was shouting.
"Get lost from here." Avinash also shouted in reply, and Adnaan turned to go back as he was not intended in listening to that argument.
Turning back Adnaan glanced at the commotion and found security guards kicking off someone. Again without bothering to pay attention to that side Adnaan went to his work desk.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°
Dishing out the half burn food for himself Adnaan sat down on the couch of the living room, eating the very first bite made him realise that food wasn't fit for human consumption but leaving with no other way he continued eating just to kill his hunger. His heart and soul stopped desiring for good food or any other facility. He was just passing the days of his life. In the time being a knock on the already open door grabbed his attention. Occasionally, Neha brings food for him as she knew Sara wasn't there to cook.
"Come in" Adnaan loudly grant permission without bothering to recognise the uninvited guest.
"Adnaan"
Adnaan suddenly turned back to saw the owner of that voice.
"You" other than this word Adnaan was unable to say anything.
